Question №508
February 21, 2018
Dau Tulpan | Almaty

How do you do! In 2008-2010 design and survey works were carried out at section km 33 from Almaty to Uzynagash, which, apparently, had to connect Big Almaty ring road and Western Europe-Western China corridor. The deisgned road passed along the villages of Koshmambet and Turar. Land plots were acquired, even layout of the road was made. But since then nothing is known about this project. I would like to clarify the future of this road. Thank you.

Dear Dau, regarding your question, we would like to clarify that km 33 exit to the Big Almaty ring road (BARR) will be constructed after the completion of the BARR construction, which will be later connected with the corridor. To date, a concessionaire has been designated for the BARR, and construction work is planned to start in May this year. The section of exit to the BARR after construction completion will be used as a connection of "Western Europe - Western China" corridor and BARR.
