Traffic opening on 80-km section of "Western Europe-Western China" corridor

Opening of traffic on “Otar-Blagoveschenka” section of "Kordai Bypass" road had been held in Zhambyl region.

The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Bekbolat Orynbekov, the First Deputy of Regional Akim, Mr. Amangeldi Bekov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Roads, Mr. Yerzhan Zhasybayev, Director of Zhambyl branch of JSC "NC" KazAvtoZhol", as well as representatives of the State Enterprise "ZhambylZhollaboratory", RSE "Kazakhavtodor" and the Contractor JSC "Cengiz Insaat".

Reconstruction of section km 162-260 was commenced in 2011. In general, the project works included the construction of two road junctions and ten bridges and overpasses.

In addition, the design provided by the construction of bus stops with shelters, "lay-by" and transitional speed lanes, rest areas construction, as well as furnishing of the road by road markings, road signs and guardrails.

It shall be noted that reconstruction of the "Kordai Bypass" road is part of Western Europe-Western China international transit corridor. The section is under I technical category with 4-lane carriageway, construction of the second lane in the direction of Blagoveschenka-Otar is scheduled for completion in 2015.
