Since 2015 4-lane road sections of the highway “Western Europe – Western China” will be toll roads

Vice Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr. Roman Sklyar, informed about that during the meeting of Majilis of the Parliament on June 05, 2013. 

- "We are planning to introduce tolling for the road sections of the highway with four-lane traffic of western Europe – Western China Transit Corridor. This is in our plans approximately since 2015". And also traffic can be tolled for some street of the capital and Almaty, - he mentioned in his speech. – The draft law has the standard, which allows introduction of tolling not only for international routes of the republican importance, but for the streests of the republican importance and capital, - he concluded.

Reference: Since May 31 of the current year the highway “Astana – Shchuchinsk” operates as toll road.
