Work progress of tunneling in South-Kazakhstan region

As on 16.04.2015 excavation and blasting works have been executed at the tunnel entrance in the amount of 73 000 m3 from 73000 m3 (100%). At the tunnel exit 56 000 m3 of soil have been excavated from 56 000m3 (100%). At the acces adit 10 000 m3 of soil (as in design solution) have been excavated from 10 000m3 (100%).

55566 m3 of Tunnel excavation have been carried out by underground method. Right side is 321,05 m, left side is 299 m, acces adit is 60 m. Total the rock have been excavated for 680,05m from 1490m (42%). Shotcreting have been made in the amount of 6395 m3. Totally 308 items of lattice have been installed. 15330 m2 of mesh and 4560 pm of rock bolt have been installed to strengthen the tunnel crown.

Tunnel second working has been begun (Bench). 286 m has been executed.

Furthermore work on foundation concreting for Lining (reinforced concrete support, 30 cm thick) has been begun at the tunnel inlet. 95m3 concrete have been done.

The following road building machnery was involved:

-Horizontal drilling equipment – 3 items

-Vertical drilling equipment – 3 items

-Bulldozer – 1 item

-Excavator – 5 items

-Loader - 3 items

-Dump truck – 5 items

- Compressor – 2 items

-Generator- 4 items

-Shotcreting equipment – 3 items

-Water carrier-7 items

-Concrete mixing station 40m3/h – 1 item

-Concrete mixer – 3 items

-Ventilator – 5 items

Mobile form has been obtained for the tunnel crown concreting.

120 people work in the tunnel – 36 foreign and 84 local staff.

State Expertise Conclusion No. 01-0646 dated October 20, 2014 has been obtained.

The list of tasks according to work plan for 2015:

-Acces adit excavation will be completed on 10.06.2014, 60 pm have been carried out from 111 pm.

-Tunnel crown concreting up to 17.10.2015

-Excavation of inlet part of right side tunnel will be completed up to 15.07.2015, 212.5 pm have been completed from 415 pm, Plan for a day is 1.5 pm

-Excavation of inlet part of left side tunnel will be completed up to 10.07.2015, 205 pm have been carried out from 418, plan for a day is 1.8 pm

-Excavation of outlet part of right side tunnel will be completed up to 25.07.2015, 109 pm have been executed from 275 pm, plan for a day is 1.13 pm

-Excavation of outlet part of the left side tunnel will be completed 20.07.2015, 94 pm have been executed from 272 pm, plan for a day is 1.2 pm

Excavation of the main tunnel will be completed up to 25.07.2015.

Inlet portal

-Concreting of the right side tunnel up to 02.10.2015

-Concreting of the left side tunnel up to 10.10.2015

-Concreting of the artificial tunnel up to 19.11.2015

Outlet portal

-Concreting of the right side tunnel up to 30.07.2015

-Concreting of the left side tunnel up to 25.07.2015

-Concreting of the artificial tunnel up to 13.11.2015

Furnishing of the tunnel will be made up to 01.12.2015
