Construction of tunnel at the section of “Shymkent – border of Zhambyl region” road in South Kazakhstan Oblast is performed for 45 %

Reference: The total length of Iranian construction company "Dena Rahsaz" and "Sargin" (Turkey) section of the road on the territory of South Kazakhstan Region is 40.5 kilometers (km 593 - km 632), of which 840 m is the length of the tunnel.

At present 46,900 m3 of soil has been developed by drill and blast tunneling method. The right side 365 meters, left side 391 meters, service tunnel 51 meters. Overall 808 meters out of 1490 meters is performed in hard-rock (54%). Sprayed concrete done in volume of 5450 m3. Total 1750 pcs of lining are installed. 33,157 m2 of net and 8100 rm of rods to strengthen the crown are installed.

The phased completion of the tunnel is planned under the following activities:

- Development of the upper part of the tunnel is planned to be completed in November 2015,

- Development of the bottom of the tunnel - in December 2015.

- Artificial tunnel concreting - in November 2015.

- Concreting of the tunnel crown in the mountain - in April 2016.

- Infrastructure development of the tunnel is planned to be completed in May 2016.

Mobilization plan of equipment and personnel is fully carried out: 47 units of equipment and 151 personnel, 88 of them are the citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Progress is moving slowly because landslides occur from time to time due to soft soil and spring water impact, therefore there is a minor delay in work program implementation - according to the Engineer "Temelsu" in association with «Consult Ltd».
