Up to 4 thousand kilometers of roads to be reconstructed in 2018

In the present year, as part of the implementation of the Nurly zhol programme, 23 road projects reconstructing 4.2 thousand kilometers are being implemented. It was said by Minister for Investments and Development Zhenis Kassymbek addressing at the session of the Government, BNews.kz correspondent reports.

“Of which, 22 projects are multi-year projects, and 10 of them are implemented at the expense of loans of international financial institutes of the total length of 2,900 kilometers. At the expense of loan funds, the construction on the projects Zhetybay – Zhanaozen, Taldykorgan – Ust-Kamenogorsk, Aktobe – Makar, Mereke – Burlybalta and the southwestern bypass of Astana is being conducted. As well as by savings of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development on July, the reconstruction of the sites Uzynagash – Otar, and Balkhash – Burylbaltay by the end of the year will begin,” said Zhenis Kassymbek.

As the Minister noted, in Almaty from May 31 the Almaty Big Ring Road is being constructed on the PPP principle. Following the plan, its construction should be completed by 2021.  

“The project ensures the creation of a modern high-tech bypass road bear Almaty to re-orientate transit flows beyond the city. In general, the implementation of the Nurly zhol projects taking into account local road networks engages 100 thousand people. In total, following the year it is planned to open traffic on 528 kilometers of the road,” he said.

As Kassymbek said, according to the instruction of the head of state, the Ministry jointly with the Governor’s Offices of the regions develop a complex of measures to develop roads of regional and district significance.

“Jointly with the Governor’s Offices of the regions, the issue to increase financing to 145 billion tenegs with the further increase to 150 billion tenges was discussed. These measures will allow to cover more than 4 thousand kilometers with repair works and to improve roads of the local network by 85% by 2025,” he said.
