Two road sections in the South - Kazakhstan oblast within the framework of "Western Europe - Western China" project is at the stage of putting into operation.

The reconstruction of M-32 "Russian Federation (to Samara) - Shymkent" Republican road sections km 2183-2217 and km 2231-2260 forming part of the "Western Europe - Western China" ​​International Transit Corridor have been completed.

Works on the reconstruction of km 2183-2217 between settlements of Yekpindi and Temirlan were implemented by “Sinohydro Corporation Limited” (China); and the Contractor on the section km 2231-2260, approaching to Shymkent city (of which 5.2 km pass within Shymkent boundaries (Yntymak village) is “Kukdong Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd” (South Korea).

Supervision of Construction Works has been carried out by “Kazdorproject” LLP in association with “Scott Wilson Limited” (UK) and “Gzamshenproject” (Georgia). Both sections are of the technical category I with 4 lanes and with a total length of 58 km. The main part of the road has cement concrete pavement, except for the city area which has been constructed as asphalt concrete pavement (stone mastic asphalt).

It is expected that by the end of this year the works under the following sections in South Kazakhstan oblast will be completed, such as section km 2057-2111 (approach and bypass of Turkestan), km 2111-2135 (the area of Ikan village) and km 2231-674 (bypass of Shymkent).
