In December, the 2^nd there was held a meeting dedicated to the 50^th anniversary of the Asian Development Bank. 

The was attended by the representatives of the Committee for Roads of the Ministry for Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ministry of the National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ministry of the Finances of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC “NC “Kazautozhol”.

At the beginning of the event Jovanni Capannelli, the Director of the representative office of the Asian Development Bank gave his welcome speech.

He remarked the successful the collaboration of ADB and the Government of Kazakhstan in the implementation of the joint projects. In his speech Jovanni Capannelli emphasized cooperation of the Committee for Roads of the Ministry for Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and its role in the implementation of the infrastructure projects. Moreover he awarded the representatives of the authorized governmental bodies with acknowledge letters for their contribution and presented a corporate video of ADB “Asia is flying upwards” where ADB demonstrated the result of its activity in the region.

During the guests had a bowling competition and discussed the current plans on cooperation with ADB for the projects under implementation.  The guests congratulated ADB with the successful work and remarked its achievements in the development of the country’s road construction. The event was hold in the active and sporty atmosphere.

Reference: Kazakhstan entered ADB in 1994. From that moment the country received about 4, 9 billion dollars under the sovereign and non sovereign loans as well as guarantees for the development projects.  

ADB is financing the following road construction projects in Kazakhstan: “Western Europe – Western China” (road sections in Zhambyl oblast, road section “Tashkent - Shymkent”), “Beineu - Aktau” and “Zhetybay - Zhanaozen”.
