In 2018, 23 road projects will be implemented, including 22 previously approved projects, of which 10 projects are implemented through loans from International Financial Institutions. This was stated by the Minister for Investment and Development Mr. Zhenis Kassymbek speaking at the meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the implementation of "Nurly Zhol" infrastructure development state program. According to the Minister, in 2017 the traffic on 603 km of republican roads was opened.
“According to the results of 2018, it is planned to open traffic on 528 km, in particular, under Center-East project (Astana-Shchiderty) - 233 km, Center-South (Temirtau-Karaganda) - 45 km, Uralsk-Kamenka - 35 km, Beineu - Akzhigit - 85 km, Almaty-Taldykorgan (Sarkand bypass) - 16 km, Korday bypass - 19 km, Astana-Petropavlovsk-border of RF (to Kurgan) - 20 km, Taskesken-Bakhty - 20 km , Shchuchinsk-Zerenda - 20 km, Taldykorgan-Ust-Kamenogorsk - 20 km, Kalbatau-Maykapshagai - 9 km, Southwest bypass of Astana - 6 km”, - said Zhenis Kassymbek.
At the same time, within the framework of the President's Message on increasing the financing of repair and reconstruction of the local network roads to improve intraregional mobility, and in order to increase the index of "Road Quality" of the GCI WEF, the Ministry together with the Akimats of the regions worked out a set of measures to improve the technical condition of the roads of the regional and district significance.
“In the current year, KZT 60 billion will be additionally allocated on a parity basis from the republican and local budgets, with bringing the amount of financing to KZT 150 billion”, the Minister told about plans for road construction.
These measures will cover over 4,000 km of repair works and by 2025 improve the condition of the local network in a good and satisfactory condition to 85%.
