ALMATY. KAZINFORM - Public hearings are held in Almaty on the introduction of the toll system with elements of an intelligent transport system on Almaty-Khorgos road section of the Western Europe - Western China transit corridor, the correspondent of the IAA Kazinform reports.
“We are now planning that in the third quarter, in September, we will start working in test mode: the cars will be fixed, everything will move, except for payment. People will drive, but they will not pay. In December or January, we plan to introduce a toll mode. A test regime will be about three months” said a spokesman of the national company KazAvtoZhol, Bauyrzhan Serikbayev.
He noted that the tariff will be approved by the Government. It is assumed that the tariff will be 1 tenge per 1 kilometer.
“Today, the cost of 1 tenge per kilometer is the same as it was before. There are no questions about its change yet” he added.
According to a representative of the national company, Yernar Tolegenov, there will be two toll collection points. Between the points there are 6 arches of control, equipped with cameras fixing the passage of transport and 6 meteorological stations.
It is also supposed to introduce toll system on Almaty-Kapshagay road section.
It will be possible to pay the toll in cash at the toll stations, in Qiwi terminals, cash desk 24. It is assumed Internet payment (payway.kz), by credit card, from the personal account (for legal entities), RFID tags (in development).
In case of non-payment for travel on a paid section, a notification is sent about the need to pay the debt within 7 days, fines are imposed for individuals - 5 MCI, legal entities - 10 MCI.
The following are exempted from the charge for the use of toll roads (sections): special vehicles while on duty; buses that carry out regular transportation of passengers and baggage in the commuter traffic connecting localities adjacent to the toll road (section): villages, villages with district or regional centers, the capital or cities of national importance; buses in the areas adjacent to the toll road; cars of individuals and legal entities of the areas adjacent to the toll road, registered in the prescribed manner on the territory of the specified administrative unit, for movement within the same district.
