Minister B.Kamaliev at the conference calls, regarding matters of implementation of the projects for road branch, concentrated on acceptance of measures for timely execution of the scope of works for all sites of the Project “Western Europe-Western China"

On August 12, 2011, Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Berik Kamaliev, conducted the conference calls, regarding matters of implementation of plans at the objects of construction, reconstruction and maintenance of the highways, financed from the state budget, as well as the Project “Western Europe – Western China”. Administration of the Committee for Roads and its regional departments, RSE “Kazakhavtodor”, Contractors of all regions of the country participated in it.

Together with execution of work schedule the Minister, Berik Kamaliev, has paid special attention to the matters of timely payment of the salary, observance of labour standards and life conditions for the staff.

During the conference B. Kamaliev has focused the participants’ attention on the main problem matters. Particularly, there are backlogs behind the work schedules of the companies “Salini”, JV “Akkord/Okan”, “Impresa” and “Azerkorpu”, which is related to insufficient number of equipment, personnel, materials, fuel. Meanwhile, he has stressed that as per status for work progress and measures for overcoming the backlogs for the road sections of this oblast, it is required to conduct a separate meeting at the nearest. Company Kukdong” has backlog behind the work schedule in South-Kazakhstan Oblast. In this connection the Head of Transport Department has instructed the Committee for Roads at the nearest to settle matters with administration of Pavlodar Oil-Processing Plant, regarding timely supply of bitumen to Contractors under the contracts, signed before. In addition a number of Directors of Regional Departments of the Committee for Roads have been instructed to visit Kyzylorda and South-Kazakhstan Oblast for rendering practical and organizational assistance to the lagging sites, as well as additional mobilization and transfer of equipment from different regions of the Republic.

Summing up the results of the conference calls, the Minister congratulated his colleagues with the forthcoming Day of Constructor.

Reference: During implementation of the Project “Western Europe – Western China” 31 303 people have been mobilized, including local personnel of 19 021 people, from other regions of Kazakhstan – 11 713 people, international personnel – 580 people. 5 838 units of road-building equipment have been involved, including 25 asphalt concrete plants, 23 cement concrete plants and 30 crushing plants. 

The works have been executed for arrangement of 14 million cubic meters of the roadbed, 395 km of subbase, 356.9 km of base course, 268.2 km of asphalt concrete mix and 88.6 km of cement concrete course.
