Construction company “Sinohydro Corporation Limited”, which started the works in the beginning of April 2015 for one of the road sections in South Kazakhstan Oblast of Transit Corridor “Western Europe - Western China” (km 742-774) within the framework of “Shymkent - Tashkent” project, has backlog from work program

PK 453 right side – subbase construction

The length of the road section for Lot 1 km 742-774 is 32 km. “Sinohydro Corporation Limited” (China) carries out the works for this section. Two own cement plants with capacity of 180m3 each, one plant for making CSSCM with capacity 180m3 / h are available at section. There is storage area of road-building materials, products and structures; containers (silos) for storage of cement ( 2 to  500t   and 3 to 200t); parking area and repair of road construction equipment; fuel storage tank (capacity 200m3) and auto weights are in base which is equipped for 95%.

135,16 thous.m3 of crushed stone out of 120,31 thous.m3 has been procured. There is a lag on procurement of gravel sand mix, sand, cement and reinforced concrete products.

The Contractor has 46 units of equipment in ownership out of 132 equipment available at site, the rest 86 units of equipment are under Subcontractor rental.

Acceptable conditions have been established for the working personnel. The office of the General Contractor is located on production base, km.760 right of the road. The office is equipped with all necessary office equipment, office furniture and household appliances. There is meeting room for 30 people, a dormitory for a hundred beds and two dining rooms (for local and foreign staff). There are connected all communications (electricity, water, internet), there are alternative sources of industrial water and electricity.

However, there is a backlog during construction works, in particular for earthworks backlog for 50%; subbase – 90 %; CCSM base – 95%; milling – 50%.

At present the works are in progress for engineering structures on 25 sites. Of them, 17 facilities completed the installation of r/c construction on 3 sites filled solid foundation. On 12 objects works on backfilling are completed.  

Concerning the personnel mobilization, as of today overall 430 personnel mobilized, of which 45 foreigners from China and 385 local staff from RoK.
