Bridges and overpasses at Lots 5 & 6 in the framework of “Almaty – Khorgos” road project

Azerbaijan-Kazakhstani JV “Evrascon/MO-1” is the Contractor working in the construction of bridges and overpasses under Lots 5 & 6 of “Almaty – Khorgos” project. The construction works have been commenced in October 2013 with the overall Contract period of 30 months. The total quantity of Engineering structures at this section is 30 pcs., including bridges - 14 pcs., cattlepasses – 9 pcs., overpasses – 3 pcs. and interchanges – 4 pcs, and strengthening of Khorgos river dam is also stipulated under Contract.

As of today works have been commenced at 28 enginnering structures, 17 of which are being implemented by «Evrascon» and 11 pcs. by «МО-1». However from commenced 28 structures works at 15 of them have been ceased. Neither work is being carried out on the remaining two engineering structures.

Monetary progress is performed for 45 % from the beginning of the Contract, however according to work volume there are some delays under work program. As of date according to the plan for 2015 only 4,3 % of earthworks, 64% of pile driving, 34% installation of foundation, installation of span slabs and beams for 10% and 23% respectively have been performed.

Concerning materials procurement, Supplier “Dostar – S” LLP supplied 68% of crushed stone, 86% of sand, 75% of sieve from the planned for 2015. Cement is procured for 28%, “Bukhtarma cement plant” JSC is the supplier. “Mechel” JSC delivered 36% of re-bar and embedded parts. Reinforced concrete products for 37% have been produced in own production base of Evrascon/MO-1.

Actually currently 357 people are working on the section, including 70 foreign and 287 local staff and 54 units of equipment and machinary is involved in the project.
