First Channel Eurasia will show televersion of information tour “New Silk Way” – press-service of Ministry of Transport and Communications informs in the press-release, published today

It reads that today, at 12.50, you can see fascinating adventures of Kazakhstan actors, bloggers and journalists at the First Channel “Eurasia”.

For 3 days group of 12 people went by bus from Kyzylorda to Almaty, having covered more than 1000 km of Kazakhstan part of the road “Western Europe – Western China”. They could see themselves the way of placement of asphalt and cement concrete, learn about all advantages of modern technologies for construction, they visited construction objects, plants and laboratories, and even took part in testing for pavement strength.

Everything, which has happened with them on their way, experiments, where they took part, their emotions and impressions – everything has been included into documentary film “Road of future”.

We would like to remind you that reconstruction of the main road “Western Europe – Western China” started in 2009, initiated by the Head of the State, Nursultan Nazarbayev. It was him who, five centuries later, proposed to revive the idea of “Great Silk Way” – trade line, which linked West and East. As the result a number of memorandums was signed with neighbouring states and an agreement was achieved regarding the start for implementation of the project.

For Kazakhstan this project is attractive as from the point of view for implementation of transit potential of the country, as well as for establishment of reliable transport link of southern and western regions of the republic.

It is important to mention that “Western Europe – Western China” is the fastest way for transportation of cargo from China to Europe. It takes 10 days to cover this distance along the corridor, meanwhile it takes 15 days to cover the distance by railroad and 45 days – by the sea.

Reference: The length of Kazakhstan part of International Transit Corridor “Western Europe – Western China” is 2 787 k, including 2 452 km, which subject to reconstruction. The works are in progress on the territory of 4 regions: Aktobe, Kyzylorda, Zhambyl and South-Kazakhstan. 1621 km for 34 road sections have been covered by construction works. At present the road section Karabutak – Irgiz – border of Kyzylorda Oblast, with the length of 215 km, has already been put into operation. In the current year traffic has been started for 800 km. Overall completion of the construction for Kazakhstan part and putting into operation has been planned for 2015.
