Question №75
May 24, 2011
Vyacheslav | Taraz city

- As per the distributed information, supposedly, the road “Kyzylorda – Horgos” will be with 4 lanes. However, it is not mentioned anywhere who and when will reconstruct for the first category the road section from junction to Otar in Zhambyl Oblast to Almaty city. I do not have in mind the section with the length of 40 km of the first technical category while approaching to Almaty city. I would like to know, will this section remain as two-lane one? Thank you!

Section “Almaty – Kainar” has been included into the Project “Reconstruction of Transit Corridor “Western Europe –Western China”. At present from km 62 to km 162 (turn to Otar) road with two lane traffic relates to the second technical category.
Construction of Kordai By-pass has been planned for the current year (km 162-260, Kainar village). For the first stage of the construction this section of the corridor with coating will consist of two lane traffic. Then, with the traffic volume increase, we have to review the matter of transferring of the section (km 62 -260) from II to I technical category.
