June 9, 2011
(no name)

- How do you do! The length of the operative road Almaty – Shymkent was 696 km. What will be the length of a new road for this section and maximum speed limit there? Thank you.

Answer to question №81

-The length of the road from Almaty city to Shymkent city after reconstruction will practically not be changed. In general, it passes along the existing direction. As per the designs by-passes of settlements are constructed in those places, where previously they were not provided. Also, the alignment is carried out for some road sections. The exact length for section Almaty-Shymkent can be determined only after completion of the design for section Border of Zhambyl Oblast - Shymkent.

Speed limit to 60 kilometers per hour has been provided for some sections of Transit Corridor “Western Europe – Western China”. There are some of them, and road signs, limiting maximum speed, will be installed, mainly, while passing of the road through settlements.
