Dear Peter, in accordance with overhaul periods middle repair of asphalt concrete pavement has been carried out with surface treatment. This is a technological procedure of construction of thin layers for pavement to provide roughness, waterproofing, durability and density of pavements. Surface treatment has been applied as preventive layer, which covers and protects in bad weather the main constructive layers of pavements from early destruction, as well as the layer of deterioration, subject to wiping during movement, protecting road structure to the best advantage. Such layer requires only periodical renewal in order to give original qualities to the road structure. Also its predestination is in the fact that the constructed wearing course for pavement with characteristics of roughness, providing adhesion and good drainage for surface water, results in the considerable decrease of hydroplaning threshold.

Last year similar works were also carried out for a number of road sections of the highway “Border of RF (to Samara) – Shymkent”, including the road section “Aktobe – Khromtau”.
