Dear Esenkul! The length of the highway “Astana – Almaty” is 1 222 km, for 969 km of which reconstruction has been carried out for 1997-2003.

Due to the lack of finance to provide traffic safety for the road section Kurty – Burylbaital with the length of 223 km the repair-renewal operations have been carried out with finishing of pavement up to satisfactory condition.

In accordance with the Program for Development of Transport Infrastructure of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2010-2014 reconstruction of the above road section has been planned to commence in 2014. The development of all the design-estimate documents will be completed and they will be approved in 2013. Technical condition of the highway till carrying-out of the reconstruction will be provided by means of periodical repair works.
