Do you have forecasts of how many trucks and cars will pass along Kazakhstan section of International Transit Corridor ‘Western Europe – Western China” in 2015 and 2020? The answer to this question is very important for us, as we are planning to participate in establishment of a specified part for social and tourist infrastructure along the road. Thank you!

According to feasibility study for reconstruction of International Corridor “Western Europe – Western China” for road section of Almaty Oblast volume of traffic after reconstruction will be: in direction of ‘Almaty – Kordai” (forecast for 2032) – 17 929 vehicles per day, in direction of “Almaty – Khorgos” (forecast for 2035) – 36 748 vehicles per day, Big Almaty Circular Highway (forecast for 2035) – 38 628 vehicles per day.

In addition, within establishment of tourist cluster along International transit Corridor “Western Europe –Western China”, “Program for development of perspective trends for tourist industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2010 – 2014” (hereinafter – Program) has been approved by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan No.1048 dated October 11, 2010; the construction provided for objects of roadside infrastructure involving investment funds of private sector. To participate in implementation of the program you should apply to local executive bodies (Akimats) in accordance with the established procedure.
