Question №385
September 5, 2015
Askhat Akhmetzhanov | Almaty

Good day! I would like to ask you to give a reply on the planned border entry point to China. Will the acting Khorgos border entry point be closed? Or will it be for passengers, and a new entry point at WE-WC road will be only Trucks? At the moment customs officers and border guards live in Khorgos village. Will not they be resettled in connection with the launch of the road?

Dear Askhat, in 2010 we have agreed with the Chinese side and defined docking point of the road on the border of China, which will be located at 6 km to the south of the existing entry point. Currently Almaty region Akimat allocated land to investor «Eurasia-Tranzit Express» LLP for the construction of transport and logistics center, which includes a crossing point across the state border "Nur Zholy", which is planned to be completed in 2016.

We do not have information regarding customs officers living in Khorgos village, most likely you should refer to the State Revenue Committee of MoF RoK and Akimat of Almaty region.
