Ministry of Investments and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan approved standards of roadside service which are classified under three catergories. It was conveyed by Minister Mr. A. Issekeshev at the meeting of Government today.

“According to standards every 50 km shall be placed facilities of the third category (petrol station, food service area, parking and service station), every 200 km facilities of the second category, where camping area is added and on touristic and historical places facilities of the first category, where conditions for staying for several days will be created for tourists”, noted Minister.

In 2014 and 2015 28 roadside service facilties were put into operation in accordance with National Standards for roadside services objects and their services (1 facility of the first category. 10 facilities – second category, 8 facilities – third category and 9 facilities – fourth category). 

Reference:

- 1 category (150-240 km) – Petrol station, motel, comfortable toilets, shower cabins, commerse area, food service area, service station, carwash, parking, trade and entertainment zone, first aid post, place for picnic;

- 2 category (80-120 km) - Petrol station, motel, comfortable toilets, shower cabins, commerse area, food service area, service station, carwash, parking, first aid post, place for picnic;

- 3 category (20-60 km) - Comfortable toilets, commerse area, food service area, parking;

- 4 category (40-50 km) - Petrol station, comfortable toilets, commerse area.
