Number of road accidents in Zhambyl section of Western Europe – Western China corridor has reduced to 30%

Taraz. Kazinform – KazAutoZhol JSC conducts several activities for provision of smooth and safe traffic flow on Western Euroe – Western China International Transit Corridor, 495 km of which pass through the territory of Zhambyl oblast. This was reported by Mr. Kairat Karibayev, head of Zhambyl oblast branch of KazAutoZhol JSC, during briefing in regional communication service.

International transit corridor in Zhambyl oblast mainly passes through the existing road of Almaty-Tashkent-Termez. During construction the alighnment was laid bypassing Kuyuk, Shakpak, Taraz city and several settlements (Shakpakata, Momyshuly, Aisha-Bibi, Kulan, Kordai), and also bypassing border of Kyrgyz Republic.

“The overall length of international transit corridor in Zhambyl oblast is 495 km, of which 295 km is the road of the first technical category with 4 lanes, and 200 km is of the second category with 2 lanes. Out of total length 351 km road with cement concrete pavement, 144 km is of asphalt concrete pavement. Road pavement has 13 tons of calculated axle load, with service term of 20-25 years», noted K. Karibayev.

According to his words up today the number of accidents has decreased to 30% in comparison with the first quarter of 2016 and the same period of 2015.

“Traffic volume on Western Europe – Western China road in average is more than 7500 vehicles per day, informed the speaker.
