Kazakhstan part of the "Western Europe - Western China" corridor is planned to put into operation this year, despite the fact that the project construction term is expected till 2017, the "Khabar" agency informs. To date more than 2 thousand kilometers of road is ready.

Throughout the country, roads are being constructed in 11 directions. For example, Center - South highway from Astana to Almaty is now being constructed on Astana - Temirtau and Almaty – Kapshagay sections. Full completion of the project is scheduled for 2021. By this time, relevant agency informs that there will be constructed 1900 kilometers of road. As for the Centre - East project works are being carried out from Astana to Pavlodar. 218 kilometers of road is being operated in this direction. In addition Astana – Petropavlovsk road with the length of 531 kilometers is being constructed. Works will be completed till the end of the year. According to the Ministry for Investment and Development, this year the total length of roads covered by construction and reconstruction, will be 1 700 kilometers, and more than 75 thousand people are involved in the construction work.
