Roundtable of "Onіr" Deputies’ Group was held in the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan chaired by the Speaker Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev. Development of transport and logistics infrastructure of the Republic of Kazakhstan has become the main topic of the roundtable on the implementation of "Nurly Zhol, the Way to the Future" Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the People of Kazakhstan.

The Minister for Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Asset Issekeshev informed about the implementation "Nurly Zhol" State Program. He elaborated on the reconstruction of the main road corridors: "Western Europe - Western China", "Center - South", "Center - East", "Center - West" and others. According to the Minister, it is planned to commission about 900 km of roads following the end of the year.

The Chairman of the Board of “KazAvtoZhol” NC” JSC Yermek Kizatov informed the deputies on the implementation of the toll system on the country's roads and development of roadside services. He told the deputies in detail about the existing Astana-Schuchinsk toll section. According to him, the average annual fundraising is 1.1 billion tenge. In general, about 7 thousand km of roads, including those reconstructed under "Nurly Zhol" Program, will become toll roads until 2020.

In regard to the development of roadside services, Yermek Kizatov noted that 19 roadside service facilities that comply with the National Standard were built in 2015. In the current year, it is planned to build 26 roadside service facilities at the expense of the private sector.

Summarizing results of the "roundtable", the Head of "Onіr" Deputies’ Group, member of the Committee for Economic Policy, Innovative Development and Entrepreneurship of the Senate of the Parliament Mikhail Bortnik highlighted that the implementation of "Nurly Zhol" Program involves large funds invested from both, public and borrowed funds. "Therefore, it is necessary to carefully monitor the construction of these roads, which will serve for us in the future and will create a huge multiplier effect for our economy for many years to come", - marked out the Senator.
