Rescuers of the South Kazakhstan region are afraid of bridge demolition, since due to a large flow of water, several road sections and concrete slabs of the small bridge on the Western Europe-Western China road in the Ordabasy district were washed away, TVK TV channel reported.

Melting of snow in the mountains and heavy rains in the Zhambyl region increased the water level in the Boraldai River, which led to an increase in the accumulation of water in the lake. The water level reached a critical level of 375 million cubic meters (of the estimated 380 million cubic meters)

In connection with this, the discharge of water into the Arys river increased and a part of the water flow was redirected to the discharge channel, which led to a drop in the water level in the river. Work to restore the bridge (not taken into operation) through the diversion channel on "Western Europe - Western China" international corridor on km 2,226 is carried out by road services, the passage is temporarily limited.
