Within the framework of Nurly Zhol President program until 2020, it is planned to link regional hubs with Astana which envisages the implementation of road sector investment projects, such as “Beineu – Shetpe”, “Shetpe-Zhetybai-Aktau”, “Zhetybai-Zhanaozen”, “Beineu - Akzhigit - border of Uzbekistan” and the construction of a ferry complex in the port Kuryk.
Today Mr. Yeraly Tugzhanov, akim of the oblast, took part in the launch of Zhetybai-Zhanaozen national road reconstruction. Its length is 73 kilometers. The funds are allocated by the Asian Development Bank. The amount of the project is 25 billion tenge. During the reconstruction of the road 600 jobs will be created.
"Today one of the most important projects for our region, Shetpe-Aktau road, was handed over during the nationwide teleconference, one of the 25 projects that President Nursultan Nazarbayev gave a start. Therefore, I want to express my gratitude to all people who are involved in the implementation of this project. And now, in the continuation of the work, we are starting the reconstruction of another road – “Zhetybai – Zhanaozen”, and this is not just a matter of construction, but first of all people’s safety. The road accident has been significantly reduced now between settlements of Aktau and Zhetybai, between Zhetybai and Shetpe, because the quality of road construction is directly linked with ensuring of traffic safety. As well new high-quality roads will contribute to the development of small and medium-sized businesses. I also want to note that the construction of the road provided work for 600 people in the region. And it is especially important that the construction of new roads in our region contributes to the implementation of a large project - the construction of "Western Europe - Western China" corridor, - said akim Yeraly Tugzhanov at the opening ceremony.
The Committee of Roads Ministry of Investments and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the Project's Employer.
According to the results of tender, two contractors were identified. JV “Ak zhol kurylys” LLP & “Akkord” JSC is the Contractor on the first section of the road (0-35 km). Cengiz Inshaat JSC is the Contractor on the second section (35-73 km).
