More than 200 km of roads will be put into operation in Kazakhstan

This work will be carried out before the end of 2018.

In 2018, 279 km of roads will be put into operation in Kazakhstan and in addition traffic will be opened for 367 km, the press service of NC KazAvtoZhol JSC reports.

According to the press service, in total in 2018 work on the construction and reconstruction of roads of national importance is planned to continue in the following areas:

On the corridor "Center-South" (1282 km long), during the implementation period, Astana-Temirtau and Almaty-Kapshagai sections with a total length of 273 km have been fully completed. This year the works will be continued on the sections of Karaganda-Temirtau (14 km), Karaganda bypass (48 km), Kurty-Burylbaytal (228 km) and Kapshagai-Taldykorgan (157 km).

117 km of Kapshagai-Taldykorgan section have been put into operation earlier. The work is being carried out for the remaining 40 km, including Balpykbi-Taldykorgan and Sarkand bypass, with completion in 2018.

Under Temirtau - Karaganda section according to the results of 2017 the traffic is opened throughout the road; the full completion is planned in 2018.

After the reconstruction, the road will be transferred to the I technical category with a 6-lane traffic and cement-concrete pavement. In addition to the road, 4 interchanges and 1 railway overpass are under construction on the section. The full completion is envisaged in 2018.

Along with this, this year works have been started on "North-Eastern bypass of Karaganda" section. 48 km of this section is subject to reconstruction to the I-b technical category with 4-lane traffic. Also within the framework of this project 8 transport interchanges, 1 bridge, 1 RMD will be constructed and reconstructed. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2019.

This year, the divisions of NC "KazAvtoZhol" JSC have commenced reconstruction of Kurta-Burylbaital section, with length of 228 km, which is implemented at the expense of the funds of international financial institutions (EBRD 143 km, IBRD - 85 km) .The road will be assigned to the I-b category, after the completion of the work the traffic will be carried out on 4 lanes. The full completion of works under this section is planned in 2020.

Under Center - East corridor (905 km) to date 404 km have been put into operation. Work is being carried out on the remaining 501 km, incl. Astana-Pavlodar - 241 km, Pavlodar-Kalbatau - 260 km (construction of subgrade, pavement, road improvement, works on overpass and interchanges). By the end of the year 196 km is planned to be put into operation.

In the direction of Astana - Petropavlovsk - border of the Russian Federation with a length of 562 km from the beginning of the implementation, the traffic is opened all along the Astana-Petropavlovsk section of 463 km. The reconstruction of the road to the border of the Russian Federation (to Kurgan) has started. Work is carried out at 65 km. According to the results of the year, it is planned to put into operation the sections "Access to Kokshetau" and an overpass on the Petropavlovsk bypass.

Full-scale work will also be continued on Beineu-Akzhigit road (85 km). Work is being carried out on the construction of the subgrade, artificial structures, relocation of engineering communications, and construction of RMD. By the end of the year, it is planned to open traffic throughout the road, putting into operation is scheduled for 2019.

According to the projects of Usharal-Dostyk (184 km), Kostanay-Karabutak (114 km), design and survey and preparatory works are being carried out. Construction and assembly work is planned to start in the second half of 2018.

On Taldykorgan-Kalbatau-Ust-Kamenogorsk (763 km), Kalbatau-Maykapshagai (415 km) and Merke-Burylbaytal (266 km) roads, design and survey works are being carried out. The implementation period is 2017-2021.

Shchuchinsk-Zerenda (80 km), Ust-Kamenogorsk-Rakhmanovski keys (32 km) roads are being reconstructed with completion in 2019 and the Southwest bypass of Astana (35 km) with completion in 2020 are also being reconstructed.

In the current year it is planned to complete work on Uralsk-Kamenka (73 km) and Taskesken-Bakhty (20 km) roads.

The share of local content in construction works is 95%. It is planned to provide jobs for about 50 thousand people and mobilize more than 10 thousand units of equipment.
