The Government of Kazakhstan has approved the new state program "Nurly Zhol" for 2020-2025, according to which 27 projects for the republican road construction and reconstruction will be implemented.
The total length of the roads in Kazakhstan is 95,900 km. According to the new five-year plan of the Nurly Zhol Government Program, 13 new republican construction and reconstruction projects with a total length of about 7,000 km and 14 transitional projects with a length of 3,800 km will be implemented. Thus, the traffic will be open on more than 10,000 km of republican roads in Kazakhstan by the end of 2025. This will allow to bring the share of republican roads in good and satisfactory condition to 100% in 2025.
It shall be noted that during the period from 2020 to 2025, about 1 trillion Tenge will be allocated to finance the development of regional and district public roads on a parity basis from the republican and local budgets. More than 20,000 km of local roads will be restored, bringing 95% of the road network to satisfactory and good technical condition.
