In Kazakhstan, preparations are continuing for the road construction season. Companies implementing road projects in our country shall prepare 70% of the material annual of the requirement by April this year.

Totally, 4,000 km of roads are planned to be constructed in 2020. To do this, road builders will require 27 million tons of crushed stone, 50,500 m3 of reinforced concrete products, 644,000 tons of cement and 400,000 tons of fuel and lubrication materials.

The main material for the construction of road pavement which is bitumen, according to experts, will be required in the amount of 984,000 tons, including the repair on regional and district roads of the country as well as the urban streets. Thus, the bitumen requirement will amount to 524,000 tons for republican road network, and 460,000 tons for local one. Currently, preparatory works are well underway. Road companies intend to keep up with a materials procurement schedule.

It shall be noted that 10,000 nos. of road construction Equipment, 77 nos. of Crusher Plants,  57 and 87 nos. of Concrete and Asphalt Concrete Plants are planned to be used at the peak of the construction season on ongoing projects. In total, about 100,000 people will work in the road sector in 2020.
