Tolegen Abdullin, the Chairman of the Committee for Roads of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, inspected the progress of road works.
As part of the trip, he inspected road works at 4 main sections of the reconstruction of the “Center-South” corridor, 946 km long: “Karaganda-Balkhash”, “Balkhash-Burylbaital”, “Burylbaital-Kurty” and “Kurty-Kapshagai”.
During the inspection, shortcomings were identified along “Almaty-Karaganda” corridor. The Chairman of the Committee instructed to eliminate them as soon as possible. Under this project, it is planned to open traffic for 363 km along the lower layer of the pavement. It should be noted that currently the movement on the new asphalt concrete surface is carried out on a section with a total length of 211 km.
It is planned to open traffic along 114 km by the end of the year with full completion of work in 2023 under “Balkhash-Burylbaital” project. To date, asphalt concrete pavement has been completed for 101 km, 110 km of base and 6.7 million m³ of work for the implementation of “Burylbaital-Kurty” project. This year, it is planned to open traffic along 143 km.
In addition, the contractor is carrying out full-scale construction and installation works under “Kurty-Kapshagai” project. At the moment, 318 people of engineering and production personnel, as well as 172 units of road construction equipment, are involved.
The Chairman of the Committee also held a number of meetings with representatives of contracting companies and gave a number of instructions to increase the pace of work, procure materials, and mobilize personnel. At the same time, he took control of certain issues regarding the progress of construction work.
