Six big foreign construction companies participate in the reconstruction of sections of International Transit Corridor “Western Europe – Western China” in South-Kazakhstan Oblast, financed by International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Including: CJSC “Dena Rahsaz” (Iran), JV “Copri Seiser” (Kuweit/Kazakhstan), JV “Posco Engineering” (South Lorea), “Sinohidro” (China), “Kukdong Engineering” (South Korea), JV “Azercorpu/Tepe” (Azerbaijan/Turkey).
The procedure of per-qualified selection of prospective Contractors was conducted for the section “Temirlan village By-Pass” in February of the current year. The main Tender will b conducted in accordance with the approved Procurement Plan in July, 2011.
Overall for South-Kazakhstan Oblast the traffic has been planned to open at the length of 163 km out of 239 km in the current year, for which 23.8 billion tenge should be disbursed.
The first one, who started the earthworks in oblast, is construction company “Dena Rahsaz” for Lot 2 (km 2057-2111). Therefore, till date Contractor has removed top soil for 32 km, executed 66000 m3 of earthworks and more than 25% of planned survey works.
There are the required approvals for all types of works. Agreements have been signed with two quarries, which belong to the company “Akzhol”, and procured 3500 m3 of granular material for subbase.
Company “Akzhol” is Subcontractor, which has 77 units of equipment, out of 87 units, already supplied to the site. New asphalt-concrete plant “Marini” with the capacity of 160 t/h The Contractor is planning to put into operation in May of the current year.
