In the framework of Kazakh-Korean Forum the Memorandum of Cooperation with the company «Samsung SDS» has been signed.
On August 25, 2011 during the official visit of the President Lee Myung Bak to the Republic of Kazakhstan and held the Kazakh-Korean Forum in Astana, Minister of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan Berik Kamaliev and executive vice president of International Business Samsung SDS Co., Ltd Kim Engsu signed Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation. This agreement involves the well-known achievements in the field of information technology development of the South Korean company in the road sector projects and, in general, in the creation of transport and logistics system in Kazakhstan.
In particular, cooperation covers areas of collaboration in the development of innovative projects aimed at developing efficient transport corridors, the implementation of transit potential of Kazakhstan, traffic control. In addition, it deals with improving transport technologies, the creation and operation of transport data base, including in order to simplify border crossing procedures for the movement of transport in international traffic, by the use of information and communication technology in international transportation, as well as helping to establish high-speed corridors.
Provisions of the Memorandum also includes the organization of joint conferences, workshops, seminars and training in the field of information technology and advanced equipments for certain infrastructure projects implemented by the Ministry, and development of effective strategies and programs for human resource development in the area of information technology in the mixed (multi-modal) transportations.
For realization of set aims it is planned to create a consultative council. The Validity of Memorandum is 3 years, after which, if necessary, it will be extended.
