On August 26, 2011 Minister of Transport and Communications Berik Kamaliyev inspects construction work on the sections in Kyzylorda region under the project "Western Europe - Western China.
"Reference: The length of section under reconstruction in the Kyzyl-Orda region under the project of the international transport corridor "Western Europe - Western China" is 812 km. The project envisages to transform 245 km of the road into I B technical category with 4-lane, the remaining sections with length of 567 km are transformed into II technical category.
Currently, construction works are being carried out on all sections of the road by 5 general contractors JSC "Salini", JV "Accord Okan", JSC "Impreza", JSC "Azerkorpu" and JSC "Todini", and 26 subcontractors. Reconstruction is carried out at the expense of the loan from International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. More than 16 thousand people are involved in to construction works, 9.4 thousand of them are local staff and 6.4 thousand people are from regions. About 3 thousand units of road-building machinery have been mobilized. This year it is planned to construct 500 km of constructing corridor in the region.
The Minister visited the sites of companies "Todini", "Azerkopu", "Accord Okan", "Impreza", "Salini", during these visits he met with the working groups, engineering services, was introduced to work schedule and was interested in elimination in previously mentioned defects. The final stage of the trip will be the meeting, which is to be held today, ie, on August 27, with participation of Kyzylorda region Mayor Bolat Kuandykova, representatives of local executive authorities, heads of contracting and subcontracting organizations, as well as the mass media – as the press service of the Ministry informs.
