On the 25th of August 2011 within official visit of Mr. Lee Myon Bak, President of the Republic Korea, to the Republic of Kazakhstan and Kazakhstan-Korean forum, conducted in Astana by Mr. Berik Kamaliev, Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republ;ic of Kazakhstan, and Mr. Kim Yongsu, Executive Vice President of subdivision of International Business of Samsung SDS Co., Ltd., Memorandum was signed about mutual understanding and cooperation. This agreement provides participation of the South-Korean company, well-known in the sphere of development for information technologies in the road projects and, overall, in creation of transport-logistic system of Kazakhstan.
Particularly, cooperation covers the spheres of interaction in the design of innovation projects, aimed at the development of efficient transport corridors, implementation of transit potential of Kazakhstan, management by transport flows. In addition, it concerns the matters of improvement for transport technologies, establishment and operation of transport base data, including aimed at facilitating of the procedures for crossing borders when transport movement in international transport communication, by application of information-communication technology in the sphere of international transportation, as well as assistance in establishment of high-speed transport corridors.
Provisions of Memorandum also stipulate organization of joint conferences, working meetings, workshops and trainings in the sphere of information technologies and advanced equipment for certain infrastructure projects, implemented by the ministry, and the design of efficient strategies and programs for the development of human resources in the sphere of information technologies for the field of mixed (multimodal) transportation.
Creation of the Consultative Council is planned for implementation for the tasks assigned. Memorandum is valid for 3 years, after expiring of which, if required, it will be extended.
