Main Contractor, Turkish company “Cengiz Insaat” started its works for reconstruction of the above road section in 2011. Total length of the alignment is 102 kilometers. Subcontractor – “Ivrus” LLP – has undertaken responsibility to carry out the main part of road works and construction of culverts. As per status for November 16, the volume of works for 2011 has already executed.
References: Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan has taken up a loan from European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for financing of the reconstruction of 102 km of the existing highway “Aktobe-Martuk-Border of RF”. It is planned to widen roadbed from III to I and II Technical Category. The design provides 2 lanes of pavement with the width of 9 m and section for approach to Aktobe with 4 lanes of pavement with the width of 18.5 m and length 9.5 km. Change of axle in the profile has been provided for traffic safety. Employer: Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Kazakhstan. As per status for November 16 of the current year, two courses from asphalt concrete have been arranged for a new alignment at the section with the length of 40 kilometers. Overall 1000 workers have been employed in the region for the project, including staff for performance of small subcontract works, personnel, involved in production of road-building materials, maintenance of equipment, supply of road-building materials and fuels and lubricants. Including - 694 people in construction works, 681 people are local staff, 13 people are international staff. Overall mobilized equipment is 235 units, targeted ones are 132 units.
All main road works are planned to complete to the end of 2012, works for landscaping - in 2013. Service life of the road without complete overhaul is intended for 20 years.
