Berik Kamaliev, Minister of Transport and Communications of the RK, has conducted the meeting regarding implementation of Project “Western Europe – Western China” in Taraz city of Zhambyl Oblast.
The meeting regarding matters of implementation for Project “Western Europe – Western China” with the participation of the Minister for Transport and Communications of the RK was conducted on December 9, 2011. Current matters for execution of works under the schedule by Contractors and matters for land acquisition were discussed during the meeting.
References: 495 km are subjected to reconstruction in Zhambyl Oblast, including 263 km, where road-construction works are executed. For III tranche (the length is 118 km) in September of the current year the Contracts were signed with Contractors JSC “Cengiz Insaat” (Turkey), ‘Kazakhdorstroi/Hundai” (Kazakhstan/Korea”, “AKM” LLP (Kazakhstan). At present Contractors execute preparatory works for procurement of road-building materials for 2012. For V tranche negotiations have been conducted with Asian Bank for Development regarding mobilization of loan for financing of road section “Taraz By-pass” (the length is 65 km), for the amount of 95 million USD.
In 2010 traffic for 50 km was open for the road section in Zhambyl Oblast. To the end of the current year it is planned to open traffic for 104 km of a new road for I-technical category with 4-lane traffic (JSC“K-Dorstroi” – 34.7 km, JV“KCC/ZhZhK” – 25.5 km, “Kazakhdorstroi-1” LLP - 35 km and “Kazakhdorstroi-2” – 8.8 km). In the current year it is planned to arrange195 kmof the road. As per status for December 7, 2011, it has been arranged:
- subgrade – 7 million m3;
- subbase – 266.8 km;
- base – 252.7 km;
- high-porous asphalt concrete course – 42 km;
- coarse-grained asphalt concrete course – 41.2 km
- cement concrete pavement – 203.3 km.
Total pavement – 244.5 km
Total number of mobilized road-building equipment and machinery is 1893units. Total number of the staff for Contractors, involved in the Project, at present is 10581 people, including 5842 people, or 55% of local staff – Press-Service of the Ministry of Transport and Communications informs.
