Turkish company “Cengiz Insaat” as the Main Contractor started road works for that section in 2011. The total length of alignment accounts for 102 kilometers. Large part of road works and construction of culverts are executed by Subcontractor “Ivrus” LLP. To date, i.e. in winter period, the works for procurement are executed in moderate pace.

References: Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan received loan from European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for financing of reconstruction for 102 km of the existing highway “Aktobe – Martuk – Border of RF”. Project provides 2 lane traffic of pavement with width of 9 m and section of approach to Aktobe city with 4 lane traffic of pavement with width of 18.5 m with the length of 9.5 km.

Special attention is paid to the applied building materials. The applied modern technologies have been tested for other Kazakhstan road sections. Considerable part of them is of Kazakhstan origin. At present the road sphere of the Republic is practically provided overall with domestic product.

New technologies and materials received a wide application, including asphalt concrete, which allows considerably increase the strength and longevity of the constructed highway. In Kazakhstan till date the manufacture has been developed nearly for all materials, applied in modern road construction.

In Aktobe Oblast as per status for the end of January of the current year 96.68 thousand cubic meters of fractional crushed stone for preparation of asphalt concrete with targeted 356.15 thousand cubic meters for 2012. More than 60% of the required quantity for gravel-sand mix has been procured for the forthcoming construction season. About 2 thousand tons of bitumen remains for procurement within the target for the current year. Overall 1.83 thousand of cubic meters of concrete products have been procured with targeted 6.16 thousand cubic meters. The same quantity of screening has been procured for preparation of 72.37 thousand tons of asphalt concrete.

Overall 846 people have been engaged in the Project for this region, including 226 people, involved in performance of Subcontractor’s jobbing.

Road construction in the region gave jump-start for creation of new working places and development of small proprietorship.

The main types of road works are planned to complete to the end of the current year, and in 2013 to continue works for beautification.
