With development of Project for Reconstruction of sections for International Corridor “Western Europe – Western China” in South-Kazakhstan Oblast special attention has been paid to a number of settlements, located along the route. To ensure free transport communication the designers have provided 50 bridges and overpasses.
As Mr. Arman Kairbekov, Director of South-Kazakhstan Regional Department for Roads, has noticed, at present 30 bridges and 13 overpasses are under construction. Special attention has been paid to the twelve-bridge span overpass for detour round Turkestan, which is under construction by the company “Dena Rahsaz”.
WE can mention that this detour will allow relieving of transit traffic flow, passing through Turkestan, the city, which is the center of cultural historical monuments.
Regulation of traffic flows passing through Shymkent, is also important, the suburbs of each increased many times during the last years due to active construction of private sector. Here the company “Azerkorpu” constructs 7 monolithic bridges, which are integral, but not prefabricated structures. Therefore, with the help of these structures the relieve of the city from transit vehicles will be carried out, as well as provision for residents of suburbs for fast access to the central streets of the city.
Overall the length of the Corridor throughout SKO is 418 km, 353.7 km of which will be with cement concrete pavement. The road will be of the first technical category with four-lane traffic due to its high workload of transit transport.
At present the construction works are in progress for 7 road sections with total length of 239 km. The first 55 km were built last year, this year it is planned to complete works for 142 km more.
As for reconstruction of remaining road sections for Shymkent-Border of Zhambyl Oblast and Shymkent – Tashkent, total length of which is 179.5 km, at present Committee for Roads MTC goes into the issues for determination of sources for financing and organization of bidding procedures.
We can notice that implementation of the Project has allowed decreasing of unemployment rate in the region. So, 4221 people have been involved in the construction works, including 3927 of local people. During construction many of them have learned new professions, such as laboratory assistants, operators of concrete pavement complex, etc., which will make good deficit of staff in the road sector – press-service of the Ministry of Transport and Communications informs in his press-release dated from October 24, 2012.
