trend.az. Kazakh Parliament’s lower chamber approves loan agreement on Western Europe - Western China

Kazakh Majilis (the Parliament's lower chamber) approved the loan agreement with Asian Development Bank (ADB) on construction of Western Europe - Western China international transport corridor, Majilis press-service reported on Wednesday.

According to the agreement, ADB will provide $125 million for construction of Western Europe - Western China's 36.7 kilometer section between the cities of Shymkent and Tashkent in South Kazakhstan region.

The project is scheduled to be completed by December 31, 2015.
The Western Europe - Western China international transport corridor will become the shortest road transport link from the Central Asian countries to Europe.
The whole corridor project is being financed by several International Financial Institutions including the EBRD, the World Bank, ADB and IDB (Islamic Development Bank).
