«Western Europe-Wеstern China» International tranzit coridor Reconstruction Project priced at 825 billion tenge will fully be repaid by 2019, says Mr. Amangeldy Bekov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Roads of the Ministry of Investments and Development (MID) of RK.

At the moment, 95% of the materials used in the construction of roads are produced in Kazakhstan. "The cost of the project is 825 billion tenge. That is, as of today, we have already taken $ 5.5 billion from International Financial Institutions. According to the feasibility study, the payback period is 8 years. I.e, after 8 years the road will already be profitable. The payback period is counted from the date of commissioning. If we, since 2011, are taking over sections, so in 2019 they will already be payed off "- said Mr. Bekov in an interview to primeminister.kz.

According to his information, the service life of the new road till the first capital repair works will be 16 years.

"This road connects not only China, Kazakhstan, and Russia, but also the Central Asian countries - Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan have access to it. In future Turkmenistan and the Middle East countries will be able also to access it. Because "Western Europe - Western China" corridor will have a branch in the direction of Mangistau region, and then - in the Persian Gulf. The construction of this branch is scheduled for completion until 2020"- summed up the deputy chairman of the Committee for roads.

After the completion of construction of the road, small and medium business can participate in the development of services. It is about providing services to users of corridor. Governmental agency with regional Akimats is working out the development plans of the service sector, which specifies how many service objects will be along the corridor.

They were categorized already. There are Category A, Category B, Category C. Objects of category C will basically be placed along the road - gas stations with food station, Commerce shops, parking and a small service station. Such objects are planned to put every 50 kilometers of road. Also there will be showers so that truck drivers could stop and take a shower.

Category B includes camping sites, where one can stop for the night. Category A is the big tourist resorts, where one can stay a few days, have a rest. Such objects will be located near the historical and cultural monuments along the route.
