Today, during a teleconference with the participation of the President of KAZAKHSTAN Mr. Nursultan Nazarbayev, the grand opening of bridge over the Syrdarya river was held, passing through "Western Europe - Western China" international transit corridor.

At a teleconference with the participation of the President from Kyzylorda region joined Mr. Zhenis Kassymbek First Deputy Minister for Investment and Development of the RoK, Mr. Berik Kamaliyev, Chairman of the Board of JSC "NC" KazAvtoZhol" and Mr. Kyrymbek Kosherbayev, Akim of Kyzylorda region.

President Nursultan Nazarbayev during a national teleconference, congratulated all residents of Kyzylorda region with the opening of the new bridge. "Today, on the eve of the New Year, we are opening a new bridge over the Syrdariya river. It is a unique structure. Kyzylorda residents for many years have been waiting for this moment. This is a very important facility for the further development of the infrastructure of the city. I congratulate you all and wish you success in your work, "- said the President in his speech.

For the first time technology of insitu superstructure bridge construction was applied on "Western Europe - Western China" project in the Kyzylorda region.

"These bridges in addition to longevity have a number of other advantages like: reliability, safety, short construction period, aesthetic appearance, the possibility of individual design and construction on any terrain. The bridge over the Syrdariya river at the bypass of Kyzylorda is of one of those. Construction of the bridge commenced in November 2012. Total funds allocated 2.17 billion tenge. Disbursement was 100% of the allocated amount. “115 people were involved in this work"- said Mr. Berik Kamaliyev, Chairman of the Board of JSC" NC "KazAvtoZhol" - during a meeting with journalists after the teleconference.

Completion of "WE-WC"  international transit corridor will have a positive impact on the economic development of the state and the region, and it will improve their macro and microeconomic indicators. Significantly reduce the accident rate on the road. After completion of road reconstruction, its technical and operational indicators will meet international requirements, will significantly increase traffic, both passenger and freight with a high percentage of participants in the traffic from the countries of Western Europe and Asia.

Kazakhstan's President Mr. Nursultan Nazarbayev in his message "Nurly Zhol - Way to the Future" among the seven key priorities in the economic development of the country noted the development of transport and logistics infrastructure and the need to carry out major road projects. Among these projects is also "Western Europe - Western China" mega-project - a transport corridor linking Western Europe and Western China. International transit corridor passes through 5 regions of the country and has a total length of 2,787 km. In Kyzylorda region length is - 812 km.
