The total length of the "Western Europe - Western China" corridor in Kyzylorda region is 817 km out of which works are being implemented on the seventh lot 49 km road section in Zhalagash area towards Karmakshy district by Contractor "Evrascon", main part of work under the rest sections is completed, only minor works under road furniture, Road exploitation sections and road exploitation points remains for completion.

Works on this section were delayed because the contract with the previous contractor "Impresa" was terminated in April 2013, because it did not fulfill its contractual obligations. Contract was awarded to “Evrascon” in June 2013, and it expects to complete the road in the autumn of this year.

Pending works:

- Construction of road pavement at Akzharma bypass,

- Construction of CSMA on main road

- Cleaning and strengthening of Shirkeyli channel,

- Engineering structures.

Kazakhstan company "KREK" JSC is involved as subcontractor for the relocation of 35 kV power transmission lines. The amount of 2,526,648 594.57 KZT is disbursed from the total budget of - 8,233,648 569.50 KZT.

Reference: The road in the Kyzylorda region is Ib category (4 lanes) and Category II (2 lanes) with asphalt concrete pavement. The construction of RES and REP, which includes an administrative building, mechanical repair depots, warm boxes, storage of granular materials, sand bases, emergency vehicle repar trestles and fuel stations are stipulated under the design.
